Program Overview

The University of Bridgeport’s Accounting program provides you with an in-depth understanding of the essential role of accounting in business processes and the skills necessary to analyze financial information. Diverse elective course offerings can be chosen to tailor your degree to your career goals and interests, whether you plan to pursue graduate studies, work in a particular specialty of accounting, or prepare for the Certified Public Accountant exam. We also connect students with valuable opportunities to gain practical experience, including participation in volunteer programs sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service.


Program Core Courses

The Accounting curriculum is designed to offer a broad foundation in accounting and the measurement of economic data. We provide multidisciplinary course options that enable you to explore the global aspects of accounting and taxation, as well as prepare for advanced studies in graduate school. The Accounting program requires students to complete 120 credit hours prior to graduation, 66 of which will be in your program core.
